VMNH Research Technician Liberty Hightower and Collections Manager Haley Cartmell are currently reorganizing roughly 1,500 dragonflies and damselflies that will soon be added to the museum's collections. The insects, which belong to the order Odonata, were donated to VMNH by Virginia Commonwealth University and were initially collected for a study conducted in the early 2000's. Once properly catalogued and added to the museum's collections, these insects will increase the museum's collection of dragonflies and damselflies by nearly half.
