VMNH paleo is out at the Carmel Church Quarry this week, excavating some roughly 14 million year old fossil sharks, whales and fish! Great first day! We're continuing excavation of a whale skeleton (in plaster from previous dig) that's coming along nicely. Roanoke College student Jenna Novosel even found the leg of a camel or horse (super rare!). Be sure to check us out at 10am Wednesday when we go live from the dig!

$10 for ages 18-59
$5 for ages 3-17, seniors 60+, and college students
FREE for children under 3, museum members, and members of ASTC participating institutions
My 4 year old son loves going to the museum. The exhibits are educational, interactive and kid-friendly.
