VMNH Curator of Mammalogy Dr. Nancy Moncrief submitted this photograph by Dr. Phil Myers (Museum of Zoology, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor) to accompany her article "Draft Genome Assembly for Eastern Fox Squirrel, Sciurus niger" and the journal selected it as the cover image for the December 2021 issue!
