The 9th annual Southeastern Association of Vertebrate Paleontology has kicked off at the museum! The conference, hosted this year by the museum and Virginia Tech, is the premier event for professional, student, and amateur paleontologists in the southeast and beyond to discuss research, ideas, and other happenings in the field of paleontology. Over 50 attendees representing 11 states and Washington, D.C. are taking part in this year's conference, which features oral and poster presentations, as well as field trips to some of Virginia's most unique field sites, including Solite Quarry, Carmel Church Quarry, and Stratford Hall, along with a trip to tour Virginia Tech's paleo labs.
