Researchers from the Virginia Museum of Natural History and Lynchburg College are currently on a 3-week dinosaur excavation in Wyoming. The joint effort aims to bring back as many dinosaur fossils to Virginia as possible for future study and public exhibit. In this video, Dr. Alex Hastings, assistant curator of paleontology at VMNH, explains the delicate process of unearthing fossils in order to keep them intact as they are transported back to the east coast.
