Present the Museum Day admission card to receive free general admission at the Virginia Museum of Natural History during Smithsonian magazine's Museum Day on Saturday, September 27, 2008. The admission card will be available in the September 2008 issue of Smithsonian magazine and will soon be downloadable at the Smithsonian magazine Web site.

The special exhibit TUSKS! Ice Age Mammoths & Mastodons also opens on September 27 at VMNH. Mammoths and Mastodons, extinct relatives of modern elephants, roamed much of North America until the end of the last Ice Age, 10,000 years ago. TUSKS! tells the story of these fabulous creatures, and some of their close relatives and neighbors, as revealed by fossil discoveries and current research.
